Curriculum Development

Curriculum Development

Over the last five years, Gati Dance Forum has been engaged in developing the curriculum for a post-graduate programme in dance. With an integrative approach that includes physical training, choreography, critical thinking and interdisciplinary studies, the curriculum aims to redefine and rearticulate the boundaries of dance practice for performers, creators, researchers, pedagogues or managers through a critical engagement with the embodied cultures and the evolving dance ecology of South Asia. This curriculum development process consolidates eleven years of several projects spanning research, creation, training and pedagogy undertaken at Gati Dance Forum.

Curriculum research and development for the programme was carried out in three phases between October 2013 to March 2017 with the support of Royal Norwegian Embassy, British Council and Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan.
